Engagements
How an engagement starts, what it costs, and what you get.
A short, direct read on how we scope work — so you can decide whether to book a call before you spend time on one.
How it starts
Four steps from first email to written recommendation.
Introductory call
A 30-minute conversation to understand the decision on the table, the constraints around it, and whether an engagement is the right answer. No fee. No obligation.
Scoping note
A short written scope covering the question, the approach, the deliverables, the timeline, and the fee. Sent within three working days of the introductory call.
Engagement
Senior-led execution across 4–12 weeks. Weekly working sessions with the sponsor. Interim outputs shared as they land, not held for a final reveal.
Handover
A written recommendation the sponsor can defend to the board. Follow-on support available on a retained basis where useful.
Engagement shapes
Three shapes. Fixed fees. No open-ended retainers.
Every engagement is scoped in writing before it starts. Fee ranges below are indicative — the scoping note lists a single number tied to a specific scope.
Diagnostic
3–4 weeks
Fixed fee, £15k–£30k
Fit
A specific product, pricing, or infrastructure question that needs an independent read before capital or people are committed.
Advisory engagement
8–12 weeks
Fixed fee, £45k–£120k

A material decision with several viable paths, where an outside operator working alongside the leadership team will accelerate the answer.
Retained advisor
6–12 months
Monthly retainer
